ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Participation and Competition Manager - Regional QLD is responsible for leading and the delivery of a coordinated approach across competitions and participation programs across regional QLD, along with leading Regional Nines and North Queensland AFLQ Schools Cup events.

 

The role will strategically drive AFL Queensland’s participation programs and formats regionally – with a strong focus on leadership and support, along with the transition and retention of participants into a quality community club environment.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF 

 

  • Provide hands on leadership, guidance and support to our Regional Leads and the broader regional team.
  • Manage AFL program delivery in line with national strategy (including NAB AFL Auskick, NAB AFL Superkick , Nines school programs/competitions, community camps, multicultural, Indigenous  and/or All Abilities programs).
  • Oversee all Regional QLD budgets to ensure all financial requirements are met.
  • Own and deliver the Streetsmarts AFLQ Schools Cup NQ Championships.
  • Coordinate and deliver North Queensland Community Carnivals.
  • Oversee delivery of Community Football across AFL Queensland managed competitions ensuring alignment to AFL strategic pillars.
  • Lead and support the delivery of Regional Nines.
  • Ensure programs are adequately resourced, deployed and within budget, and in accordance with relevant award rules and AFL workforce management policies and systems (Deputy & Salesforce).
  • Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role and support and contribute to the success of the broader team.
