As Assistant Coach – Top End Youth Academy Coordinator, you will play an important role in developing the next generation of Northern Territory football talent. Supporting boys and girls aged 10–15, you will help deliver a structured program that builds skills, confidence and a lifelong connection to the game.
You will support the delivery of a structured youth development program while helping create an engaging and inclusive environment for young athletes.
- Assisting in the delivery of the Top End Youth Academy program for players aged 10–15
- Supporting the development of fundamental football skills including kicking, handball and ground ball techniques
- Building player understanding of decision making and game awareness
- Reinforcing strong training habits and consistent performance standards
- Promoting positive off-field behaviours including respect, inclusion, confidence and resilience
- Working closely with the Head Coach to deliver well-structured and consistent training sessions
- Supporting individual player development activities where required
- Providing clear, simple and consistent feedback to players to aid development
- Assisting with training setup, pack down and overall session flow
- Experience supporting or coordinating programs and delivering structured activities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage young participants
- Sound knowledge of football and a genuine passion for developing players
- Ability to collaborate effectively and influence others positively
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Relevant qualifications in Sports Coaching, Sports Management, Recreation, Education or equivalent experience
- AFL Level One Coaching accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Working with Children Check and ability to complete required screening checks
- Current Northern Territory Driver’s Licence
- Good understanding of the local football network and community
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
