ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will oversee the development and implementation of all coach education, development, pathways to develop a positive player and coach experience across the Northern Territory.
DAY IN THE LIFE
- Lead the development and implementation of the Territory-wide coaching strategy and plan in consultation with the AFL Coaching team and NT community football stakeholders. • Support volunteer coaches to provide positive experiences for players through targeted education and development opportunities, with a focus on Junior and Youth teams.
- Foster links with the AFLNT Talent department to ensure appropriate pathways and opportunities are available to supplement coach and player development.
- Together with the community football leadership team, drive best practice standards with respect to coaching and player experience related matters within community football.
- Develop processes and structures that ensure development pathways for new coaches, through to talented coaches.
- Support and contribute to the success of the broader Community Football team.
- Leverage partner AFL Clubs of the NT to connect the community with the elite to provide development and aspiration to community football & pathway level coaches.
MUST HAVE'S – what’s needed to help you be successful
- Stakeholder and people connection experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge & skills in the areas of Australian Rules football, education and / or
- administration.
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills and emotional intelligence.
- Experience in establishing systems and processes to support the development of people and
- pathways.
- Experience in creating or further developing positive environments.
- Previous experience or accreditation in coaching (any sport) is desirable.
- Has completed tertiary education in one of the following fields education, sports management,
- or significant relevant experience in these fields.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, leading, and delivering curriculum of a program aligned
- to the business’ broader objectives.
- Confidence to educate and influence multiple and diverse stakeholder individuals and groups.
