ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Executive is responsible for supporting the delivery of new business outcomes across the AFL & Marvel Stadium’s corporate hospitality, premium membership product suite, and related programs.
Whilst reporting into the Business Development Lead this role will deliver significant new business outcomes across corporate hospitality, premium memberships, integrated hospitality & advertising offerings, major event packages and premium programs.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Leadership
- Proactively engage in team & department leadership forums
- Encourage and foster a positive, proactive working environment in-line with AFL values
- Collaboratively work with broader team (including Account Managers, Membership Operations & Engagement and ELEVATE) to drive New Business agenda
- Development of Premium Sales Administrator through day-to-day sales engagement
New Business & Customer Acquisition
- Support the development and implementation of clear new business and acquisition strategies across all Stadium & AFL premium membership and hospitality products
- Major focus on maximizing revenue growth through lead generation activities
- Unlock new revenue opportunities amongst existing portfolio of clients, as well as across broader premium and corporate sales portfolio
- Explore and leverage key industry relationships with a view to unlock new revenue growth
- Play a lead role in shared service sales models across both the Venue & Function and Premium Programs campaigns (AFL Connect, GF + Finals, Gather Round)
- Support the Partner hospitality programs across all Stadium & AFL premium membership and hospitality products, in conjunction with Account Managers for ongoing support.
Account Management, Retention & Growth
- Where required assist in the implementation of discrete renewal strategies across all major premium membership groups and corporate package purchasers
- Implement specific client account management plans for high-value clients
- Support Premium Growth Manager on management of AFL & Marvel Stadium Agents & AFL Clubs
Reporting, Finance and Analytics
- Ensure all commercial indicators including sales calls, actual sales results, sales forecasting, progress on account management plans and new business pipeline are captured in CRM
- Maintain regular customer feedback loops, ensuring sales team provides relevant customer information to key internal operations / experience teams and updates client records within CRM accordingly
OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER
Mandatory:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial role within sport, media, hospitality or entertainment industries or related commercial discipline
- Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to deliver quality outcomes in fast-paced sales environment
- Demonstrated ability to forge strong, sustainable client and stakeholder relationships
- Extensive experience in development of revenue channels and commercial innovation
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems
Desired:
- Tertiary qualification in a Commerce and/or Marketing related discipline
- Strong understanding of the AFL competition
