ABOUT THE ROLE

The Game Development Platforms Lead will play a key role in the delivery, support and ongoing evolution of the AFL’s key community football platforms, including PlayHQ, OfficialsHQ, Salesforce and other digital products that enable participation and engagement. The role combines project management expertise with operational oversight to ensure that platforms meet the needs of a broad stakeholder group, while at the same time prioritising features and enhancements that advance the Game Development strategy and objectives.

 

Please note this is a 6-month max term position until July 2026.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders and platform providers to identify future Game Development platforms enhancements, using data and insights for prioritisation and decision-making.
  • Lead the delivery of platform enhancement projects through the full project lifecycle, including planning and documentation, stakeholder engagement, testing coordination, and change management - including training plans.
  • Collaborate with platform vendors and internal teams to ensure successful implementation of enhancements and integrations.
  • Monitor community platforms performance and adoption, providing regular reporting and insights to stakeholders. Proactively lead interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the Stakeholder Services team for complex platform issues.

 

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER 

Mandatory:

  • Experience with PlayHQ, OfficialsHQ, and Salesforce platforms.
  • Experience using data and stakeholder insights to drive prioritisation and evidence-based decision making.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritise effectively under pressure.

 

Desired:

  • Familiarity working with SaaS platforms and digital solutions.
  • Familiarity with community sport workflows
