The opportunity

Marvel Stadium is one of Australia’s premier venues, hosting major sporting and entertainment events while operating as a vibrant precinct 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

 

As Manager, Stadium Security and Venue Services, you will provide strategic leadership across all security operations, ensuring the safe, secure and efficient delivery of events and day-to-day stadium operations. Reporting to the Head of Stadium Operations, you will lead a critical function that protects people, assets and operations while driving continuous improvement across security services, systems and procedures.

 

This is a senior leadership role with significant responsibility, influence and autonomy, requiring strong judgement, operational expertise and the ability to lead in high-pressure environments.

 

What you’ll own

You’ll lead the security strategy and operational delivery across Marvel Stadium, ensuring a proactive, intelligence-led and risk-based approach to venue security, emergency preparedness and stakeholder engagement.

 

You’ll add value through:

  • Leading and delivering the stadium-wide security strategy across the venue, car park and surrounding precinct
  • Providing oversight of all security operations, including event security, crowd management, control room operations and service entry functions
  • Identifying, assessing and mitigating operational security risks across a complex and high-profile venue environment
  • Leading and developing a high-performing security team, including senior leaders, operational teams and contracted service providers
  • Managing security service providers, performance outcomes, workforce deployment models and budgets
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for security incidents, emergencies and critical operational issues
  • Driving emergency preparedness, response planning and operational readiness across the venue
  • Building strong relationships with emergency services, government agencies, event promoters, AFL stakeholders and venue partners
  • Providing strategic advice to senior leaders on security risks, planning and operational readiness
  • Overseeing security management plans, risk assessments and operational security planning for events
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative, licensing and organisational requirements
  • Using data, insights and technology to continuously improve safety, security, operational resilience and customer experience

 

What you’ll bring

  • Significant experience leading security operations within a major venue, stadium, critical infrastructure or similarly complex environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-layered teams, including senior leaders, operational teams and contractors
  • Strong experience managing outsourced service models, vendor performance and contract delivery
  • Extensive experience in incident management, emergency response and security risk management
  • Experience supporting major events, crowded places or large-scale public environments
  • Exceptional leadership capability with the ability to set direction, drive accountability and build high-performing teams
  • Sound judgement and confidence making decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders and external agencies
  • Advanced risk assessment, situational awareness and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to connect strategic planning with operational execution and delivery
  • Current Victorian Security Licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Flexibility to support event operations, including weekends, evenings and peak event periods
