ABOUT THE ROLE

As Social Content Creator you will ideate, capture, craft and develop high-impact video content that cuts through on the AFL’s social media platforms.

 

This is a hands-on role focused on producing fan-first content for platforms such as YouTube, which would involve a mix of planned studio shoots and on-the-road captures, with players, content creators and key industry figures to build audience connections.

 

Attention to detail and pride in the quality of output is essential for this role, as well as a keen eye on video trends on social media and an eagerness to implement them in a timely manner.

 

The Social Content Creator may also be required to assist in the production of live broadcasts across the various social media channels.

 

We will be closed for our annual closure period from December 22 2025, returning January 12 2026. Over this closure period, applications will not be responded to during this time.

 

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER

Core Competencies:

  • Proven hands-on experience (minimum 2 years) capturing and editing video content for social media platforms
  • A strong understanding of and experience in production requirements such as lighting, audio and visual capture in studio and external environments
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Premiere Pro
  • Key understanding of social video content and what content pillars and editing styles will best appeal to younger audiences
  • Excellent storytelling skills with passion and strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work flexible days and hours, including gamedays, weekends and evenings
  • Ability to work independently and as a team

 

Desired:

  • Experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud offerings such as Photoshop and After Effects
  • Experience creating video content about sport
  • An understanding and passion for AFL and storytelling
  • Experience facilitating and producing live content directly to social media platforms such as YouTube and TikTok
