ABOUT THE ROLE

An opportunity has arisen in the Sports Turf Management team for a Turf Tradesperson at Marvel Stadium. The Turf Tradesperson is responsible for the maintenance, renovation, and presentation of turf surfaces, in line with requirements for various event modes. The role involves operating a range of turf-care machinery, performing horticultural duties, and ensuring a safe and high-performance playing surface.

On any day you may:

•  Work within the arena department to produce a high-quality arena surface for all venue hirers
• Implementation and safe use of the SGL Concept
• Oversee all turf replacement for the venue and ensure our quality standards are met
• Oversee any contractors working on the arena and ensure all tasks are completed with minimal impact on the arena surface
• Ensure that all arena turf practices by the venue are compliant with OH&S and EPA requirements
• Guarantee accurate presentation of line marking and sponsors grass signage for all venue hirers
• Ensure accurate completion of all required documentation
• Work within our team to support turf management at Ikon Park, Whitten Oval and RSEA Park
• Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role
• Support and contribute to the success of the broader Marvel Stadium/AFL team

Our ideal candidate would have:

• Detailed sports or golf turf management knowledge and experience
• Suitable turf management technical qualifications (i.e., Cert III)
• Experience in application of agrichemicals and fertilisers
• Knowledge of all relevant OH&S requirements and framework
• Flexibility to work outside of business hours and on weekends
• The ability to work collaboratively within a wider turf management team

A standout candidate may also have:

• Previous experience in delivering events with AFL, NRL, FFA and CA
• Forklift License
• MR Truck License
