ABOUT THE ROLE
As key member of the AFL Victoria Community Football team, a Football Operations Manager – AFL Victoria is responsible for the management, administration, and delivery of community football Operational Programs in Victoria. The role provides operational support, advice and education to all community football leagues and regions and key stakeholders to support the development and growth / sustainability of football in the state.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Lead Victoria in the development, implementation and management of National, State and Country Policies and By Laws

Manage allocated AFL Victoria Community Football Team Programs including CCSP Advisory Group, Policy Reference Groups and other working parties and engagement forums as required from time to time

Develop, document and deliver a Football Operations educational and support program which builds the capability of Community Football League Administrators

Maintain positive, collaborative relationships and stakeholder management with Community Leagues and Country Regions

Provide support and direction to Leagues and Regions with respect to policy, rules and regulations including the Clubs Sustainability Program
-
Ensure viable and sustainable community League and Regional networks through effective education programs, enhancing the overall quality of the community football environment

Contribute to key projects in the Community Football Team and nationally within and outside of core role

Support and contribute to the success of the broader team

Demonstrated ability to work with League Operational Teams, volunteers and club committees

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to adapt to change, remain effective and calm when faced with changing tasks, responsibilities or people

Able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

Demonstrated knowledge and interest in Australian Football, experience in a community club setting is desirable

Flexibly and availability as may be required to support club enquires along with attending meetings outside of normal business hours as needed

Proven ability and willingness to work as a team member whilst displaying autonomy

Current Driver’s License
Outcomes/KPIs:

Progressive development of State Regulations and Country Rules consistent with NCFPH.

Achieve greater adoption of the NCFPH in Metro Leagues

Increased capability and capacity of League Operational teams to administer NCFPH, State Regulations and League or Region By Laws

Increased quality, management and delivery of Community Football initiatives and programs at League, region and AFL Vic level

Improved partnerships and collaboration between AFL Victoria Metro and Country Affiliates through provision of strategic and operational advice and support

Complete and/or help facilitate the achievement of the key projects identified from time to time in specific metro and country regions.

In terms of service provision, achieve high satisfaction levels from Affiliates.

Implementation of legacy programs which drop value for community football now and in the longer term
