The opportunity
 
The AFL is looking for a Live Support Casual to help deliver a smooth and reliable digital experience for fans during live AFL matches.
 
In this remote casual role, you will provide real-time support to users of AFL digital products and services, helping troubleshoot live streaming, app, account and platform issues when the action is happening.
 
Working closely with the digital team, you will help monitor live streams, respond to customer enquiries and escalate technical issues or feedback so they can be resolved quickly and clearly.
 
 
What you’ll own
 
You will support fans and users during live AFL match periods by providing timely, practical and clear digital support.
 
You’ll add value through:
  • Monitoring and responding to user enquiries and digital support issues during live AFL match periods
  • Monitoring AFL live streams during matches to identify and report issues that may impact users
  • Troubleshooting common technical issues across live streaming, app functionality, account access and AFL digital services
  • Providing clear, step-by-step support to users through written communication
  • Escalating complex or recurring technical issues to the right internal teams for investigation and resolution
  • Accurately documenting user feedback, technical issues and support trends to support internal follow-up and service improvement
  • Staying informed on AFL match details, game times, teams and relevant platform updates to provide accurate support
  • Collaborating with the digital team to understand product features, changes and service updates
  • Supporting a positive customer experience by resolving issues efficiently and communicating with care
  • Working independently during rostered shifts while following agreed support processes and escalation pathways
 
 
What you’ll bring
 
  • Experience in customer support, helpdesk, digital support or a similar service-focused environment
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical step-by-step support
  • Practical technical troubleshooting capability across mobile devices, desktop computers, live streaming services and digital platforms
  • Familiarity with CRM, ticketing or customer support platforms, desirable
  • Sound knowledge of, and interest in, AFL games, rules, teams and match activity
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving live environment
  • An interest or background in IT, digital media or sports broadcasting, desirable
  • Confidence working independently in a remote environment
  • Availability to work rostered shifts during evenings and weekends aligned to AFL game times
  • Access to a suitable PC or laptop, microphone, webcam and mobile phone for rostered shifts
