Purpose – why this role is important
This role will be responsible for overseeing national strategies to improve the transition into, and the retention within, junior community football, for girls & boys across the country. A key responsibility is to drive the implementation and education of the Junior Rules nationally with the intention of all Leagues across the country adopting the Junior Rules over the coming years.
In addition, this position will play a crucial role in analysing data on the participant journey from introductory participation products through to community clubs and provide strategic advice nationally to improve both transition and retention.
Please note, this role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office
Day in the life – what you will be responsible for
- Exploring existing retention and transition trends and working with State and Territory teams on addressing identified challenges.
- Working with the Data and Analytics team on requirements for retention and transition data.
- Advocating for the adoption of the Junior Rules with Leagues and Clubs, as well supporting the development of new junior girls competitions across the country.
- Creating material to support the education of the Junior Rules to key stakeholders in community football including coaches, umpires, parents and volunteers.
- Work closely with Club Development, Coaching and Umpiring teams to develop initiatives to ensure the best possible experience for participants.
- Supporting the women and girls action plan focus on increasing the number of girls playing community football.
- Working on required and agreed projects.
- Support and contribute to the success of the broader team.
Must haves – what’s needed to help you be successful
- Understanding of the Community Football governance models nationally
- Good stakeholder management skills
- Experience in change management processes
- Experience in data analysis and ability to strategically apply
