The opportunity
As a casual Partnerships Coordinator, you’ll help bring AFL partner programs to life in ways that create value for partners, supporters and the game. This role plays an important part in delivering great commercial outcomes, supporting meaningful partnerships and helping the AFL maximise the impact of its sponsorships.
Working closely with the Senior Account Manager, you’ll support the delivery of major AFL partners while also managing selected partner relationships end to end. You’ll develop a strong understanding of each partner’s business and objectives, then work across multiple AFL teams to identify opportunities that strengthen partnership outcomes and enhance return on investment.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys balancing relationship management, campaign coordination and operational delivery. From time to time, the role also includes after-hours or weekend hosting duties.
What you’ll own
You’ll help deliver partnership experiences and outcomes that are strategically aligned, operationally strong and valued by AFL partners.
You’ll add value through:
- Supporting the AFL to deliver on contractual commitments to AFL and AFLW sponsors
- Coordinating day-to-day partnership activity across marketing, media, public relations and promotional execution
- Driving commercial objectives and joint marketing programs that create mutually beneficial outcomes
- Monitoring partner rights and benefits, and proactively identifying ideas to improve how they are used and delivered
- Working with AFL Digital and Sales teams to deliver strategic leverage and integration opportunities aligned to partner plans
- Supporting clear and effective communication between the AFL and partner contacts
- Assisting with budget administration through the designated finance system
- Preparing partner presentations to support sales activity, delivery updates and reporting
- Providing administrative support to the Partnerships Account Manager and Senior Account Manager
- Helping coordinate ticketing and hospitality inventory, work in progress documentation, player appearances and merchandise funds
- Building strong internal relationships across AFL departments to identify opportunities that enhance existing partnerships
- Contributing to team initiatives and solutions that support the broader Corporate Partner Group
What you’ll bring
- 1–2 years’ experience in sales, marketing, sponsorship, digital, media or agency environments
- Experience supporting or delivering commercial media or marketing initiatives
- Strong coordination skills, with a high level of process discipline, rigour and operational follow-through
- Clear written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Strong customer service and relationship management capability
- Confidence working across multiple stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
- A results-focused approach, with initiative and sound judgement
- Ability to prepare professional presentations and partner-facing materials
- Confidence working with systems and platforms, with experience in Monday.com, Salesforce and Teams highly regarded
- A collaborative, team-focused way of working
- Flexibility to support after-hours or weekend hosting duties when required
Desirable:
- Understanding of the AFL competition
- A tertiary qualification at degree or diploma level will be well regarded
