ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the dynamic world of AFL as a People Coordinator and play a crucial role in shaping the employee experience nationwide. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the success of the AFL's People Team by ensuring a seamless and positive journey for team members throughout their employment lifecycle.

As a People Coordinator, you will be the backbone of our HR operations, providing essential support to enhance the overall team experience. What you'll be doing and key responsibilities:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Responding to team members' HR inquiries, offering clear advice and effective solutions.
- Overseeing the administrative aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment coordination to offboarding.
- Preparing employment agreements and other essential documentation.
- Administering HR systems (HRIS) to manage employee data, process organizational changes, and track onboarding progress.
- Coordinating onboarding processes to ensure the necessary information is provided and new hires feel welcomed and supported.
- Assisting Hiring Managers with recruitment activities, including writing and posting job advertisements, providing guidance, managing expectations and anticipating next steps.
- Proactively managing compliance requirements and processes including right to work, compliance training, casual conversion and Working with Children Check obligations.
- Providing support for various HR projects and initiatives to drive team success.
- Contributing ideas and ensuring the successful implementation of key projects in line with wider HR strategy and plan
- Assisting with reporting and administrative tasks as required.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- 2 years' experience in a people-centric/HR role
- A solid understanding of employee relations, Awards, and general HR practices
- High initiative, proactivity, and the ability to work in an agile manner
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret information, identify risks and provide effective HR outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage competing needs from multiple stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
- An excellent work ethic, a desire for continued learning, and a drive to deliver outcomes
- Effective relationship management skills with diverse stakeholders across multiple geographical locations
- People-centric approach and a history of delivering exceptional service experiences
- Experience in and a passion for general administrative tasks
- High-level computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook
- An eye for process improvement
