ABOUT THE ROLE
The Australian Football League (AFL) is at the forefront of revolutionising the fan experience, with a strategic vision to deliver seamless and integrated digital engagement for millions of fans. We are committed to innovation, and are embarking on an ambitious program of cross-functional initiatives spanning digital platforms, technology delivery, and data-driven capabilities. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a passion for leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and driving outcomes across digital, technology, and data domains. This role is critical in ensuring strong coordination between internal teams and external partners, enabling the successful delivery of projects that enhance the fan experience and support the AFL’s broader strategic objectives.
Please note this is a 6-month max-term role until end of October 2026.
YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT
As a Project Manager, you will represent Digital Product and be responsible for overseeing milestones, delivery, and ensuring internal AFL stakeholders and external parties (including Telstra, external vendors, agencies) remain on-track for the delivery of the following projects (including but not limited to):
- Customer Data Platform across AFL and Clubs
- Consent Management Tool Integration
- Ticketmaster Integration
- Ticketing Enhancements and Joint Partnership Roadmap Development
- Vertical Video App Integration

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Milestone Management: Define, track, and manage project milestones to ensure timely delivery.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal AFL stakeholders (such as product, data, commercial and content) and external partners (Telstra, external vendors, agencies) to keep all parties aligned and on track.
- Project Delivery: Oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring it meets the quality standards and objectives set by the AFL.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues early, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date, including project plans, status reports, and post-project reviews.
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in delivering digital products and technology platform enablement.
- Your background may be in digital product, business analysis or project management but you exhibit a strong desire to keep stakeholders informed, wrangle calendars and meet ambitious delivery targets.
