Senior Accounts Payable Officer

- Overseeing and managing end-to-end accounts payable processing, including payment runs, reconciliations and reporting
- Leading Accounts Payable operations across AFL House and affiliated entities, supporting efficient cash outflows across the industry
- Maintaining a robust control environment through effective invoice matching, payment approvals and compliance with financial policies
- Contributing to weekly, monthly and annual cash flow forecasting processes
- Developing and reporting on meaningful KPIs that measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounts Payable function
- Continuously reviewing and improving processes to optimise service delivery and strengthen systems and controls
- Building trusted relationships with vendors, AFL Clubs, cost centre managers and finance stakeholders
- Partnering with Procurement teams to support compliance with purchasing and procurement processes
- Producing ad hoc purchasing and payables reporting to support business decision-making
- Supporting month-end activities, including balance sheet reconciliations where required
- Maintaining and enhancing Accounts Payable policies, procedures and documentation
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of two while driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Demonstrated experience in a senior Accounts Payable or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes, controls and reconciliations
- Experience working within ERP environments and implementing process improvements that enhance systems and operational efficiency
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
- Experience influencing outcomes and promoting compliance across a complex organisation
- Strong leadership capability with a commitment to supporting and developing others
- High levels of integrity, accountability and attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
