Every role at the AFL helps progress the game, so more people can love it, connect with it and see what is possible through it.

The opportunity

If you're the person sending the latest TikTok trend to your group chat before anyone else has seen it, this could be the role for you.

As our TikTok and Snapchat Producer, you'll create content that connects AFL and AFLW fans with the moments, personalities and stories that make footy great.

From match days and player access to cultural trends and viral formats, you'll help shape content that feels fresh, entertaining and built for the next generation of fans.

You'll need to think quickly, trust your instincts and know what works on social before everyone else does.

What you’ll own

You’ll help bring AFL and AFLW stories to life through content that feels native to TikTok and Snapchat, moves quickly with the moment and reflects the standards of the AFL brand.

You’ll add value through:

  • Creating, editing and publishing short-form vertical content for AFL TikTok, AFLW TikTok and AFL Snapchat, tailored to each platform’s audience, format and tone
  • Capturing behind-the-scenes content at AFL and AFLW matches, events, campaign shoots and relevant football moments, noting flexible working across evenings and weekends may be required
  • Monitoring TikTok and Snapchat trends, creator behaviours, platform updates and emerging content styles, then identifying relevant opportunities for AFL content
  • Supporting the planning and scheduling of TikTok and Snapchat content, including ideas, assets, concepts and publishing rhythm
  • Working with the AFL and AFLW Social Leads and broader social team to support match days, major football moments, campaigns, announcements and fan engagement priorities
  • Filming and editing content using mobile-first tools, native platform features and approved AFL workflows
  • Coordinating captions, tags, thumbnails, publishing details and simple approvals so content is accurate, accessible where required and ready to go live
  • Repurposing or adapting TikTok and Snapchat content for other AFL platforms where appropriate, with care for the audience and channel
  • Maintaining account hygiene across TikTok and Snapchat, including profile presentation, saved drafts, asset organisation, publishing standards and platform best practice
  • Supporting community and content monitoring by identifying audience reactions, potential risks, errors or sensitive matters and escalating them through the right channels
  • Reviewing basic performance insights, fan response and content patterns to help improve future ideas, formats and execution
  • Applying sound judgement when producing content, including awareness of AFL brand standards, permissions, privacy, child safety expectations and escalation pathways

What you’ll bring

  • Some experience creating short-form social content through work, study, sport, media, volunteering or personal content projects
  • Strong understanding of TikTok and Snapchat, including native formats, trends, audience behaviour and what makes content feel authentic on each platform
  • Ability to film and edit simple, engaging vertical content using mobile-first tools, platform features and basic editing workflows
  • Good judgement in live or fast-moving environments, including knowing what is appropriate to capture, publish or escalate
  • Strong attention to detail across captions, tags, thumbnails, content quality, account presentation and publishing accuracy
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with social, content, media, marketing and match day stakeholders
  • Awareness of brand, privacy, permissions, safety and escalation considerations when creating and publishing content
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid employee Working with Children Check
