ABOUT THE ROLE

As Venue Sales Executive at Marvel Stadium, you’ll play a key leadership role in driving the growth of business events within our newly redeveloped, state-of-the-art function and events spaces. This is more than a sales role—it’s an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in one of Australia’s most iconic venues.

 

The Venue Sales Executive is responsible for the proactive identification and securing of both new functions and conferences and repeat business to Marvel Stadium’s function rooms on non-event days. With a focus on relationship management and client engagement, success will be achieved through determination, competitiveness and goal orientation. This success will be measured by meeting or exceeding budgeted sales targets and client satisfaction.

 

The Venue Sales Executive role is a fast-paced opportunity, defined by the ability to be able to manage and large pipeline of predominantly inbound opportunities, managing the sales process and converting these into Sales. There will also be some opportunity to generate your own portfolio of business through the leveraging of your existing network and generating outbound opportunities.

 

Success in this role will be achieved through ambition, determination, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client outcomes. You’ll thrive if you’re commercially minded, confident in networking environments, and well-connected within Melbourne’s business and special events community. You’ll also contribute to the strategic direction of the of the Stadium and contribute to forward-thinking sales initiatives that reflect Marvel Stadium’s status as a world-class Business Events venue.

 

With the stadium’s major redevelopment now complete, this role presents a unique opportunity to capitalise on a new era for Marvel Stadium—defined by premium facilities, elevated hospitality, and a bold vision for the future of business events.

 

Please note this is a 12-month parental leave cover until mid-January 2027.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

  • Proactively identify and convert sales opportunities for business events
  • Manage a large pipeline of inbound enquiries and drive the full sales process
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business
  • Contribute to strategic sales initiatives and the stadium’s broader business goals

 

Success in this role requires:

  • A commercially minded, goal-driven approach
  • Confidence in networking and client engagement
  • Strong connections within Melbourne’s business and events community
  • A passion for delivering exceptional client outcomes
  • Proven experience in venue, event, or hospitality sales
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and convert a high volume of sales leads
  • Strong relationship-building and client management skills
  • Experience in outbound sales or business development is advantageous
  • Familiarity with the Melbourne corporate and events market
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

 

A standout candidate may also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications, Industry related qualification preferred
  • Experience working in a venue undergoing redevelopment/construction
