ABOUT THE ROLE – This role is approximately 10hours per week
These roles contribute significantly to the successful operation of our Tasmania Talent Pathway Programs. Regional Assistant Development Coaches (RADC) is primarily responsible for supporting the Regional Development Coach (RDC) in the development of our Tasmania Talent Pathway Players. The Tasmania Talent Pathway provides a unique football landscape in that it has, as a primary goal, the focus of the development of individual players in the program.
RADC roles are employed across the following programs in all our regional hubs:
- U’ 18 Tasmanian Boys (Coates League)
- U’ 18 Tasmanian Girls (Coates League)
- U’ 16 Tasmanian Boys (National Championships)
- U’ 16 Tasmanian Girls (National Championships)
We are looking for a passionate candidate for our Under 18's North West region!
This position involves assisting in the planning, preparation, and delivery of training sessions, focusing on developing individual players' technical abilities within a safe and inclusive environment. The Assistant Coach role will contribute to the selection and development of players, monitor and evaluate their progress, and provide constructive feedback to players. Collaboration with other coaching staff and alignment with the program's objectives are essential to ensuring player development in a positive environment.
Additionally, the role includes participation in Regional and State based training sessions, match days, and interstate travel, providing a comprehensive coaching experience within the AFL talent pathway.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide support to the relevant coach in the planning of training and match days.
- Actively drive and contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for the players and an overall positive and respectful culture within the region.
- Work with individual players to improve their fundamental skills and to provide guidance and confidence in their football careers.
- Act as a line coach and oversee the responsibilities of educating the players under your charge.

- Sound background and knowledge of coaching principals.
- Must be able to commit to working nights and some weekends
- A valid Working With Vulnerable People card is required
Desired:
- AFL Silver Coach Accreditation (previously Level 2) or working towards an AFL Coaching accreditation
