We’re looking for passionate, community-minded people across all metropolitan and regional areas of Victoria to join our team as Game Development Officers. 

 

Whether you’ve played Aussie Rules, rugby league, soccer, netball, cricket, or you have no prior sporting experience – your experience is valuable with us. You don’t need to know AFL; you just need a love for sport, a positive attitude, and a passion for helping kids stay active and connected through team sport. 

 

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

 

As a Game Development Officer, you’ll be the heartbeat of the AFL in the community, creating unforgettable experiences that connect members of the community to the game. You’ll: 

 

  • Deliver the Game: Run dynamic Auskick, Superkick, AFL Nines, school clinics, and School Holiday Programs that spark a lifelong love of footy across schools and local communities. 

  • Halftime Experiences: Bring the excitement to AFLM and AFLW matchdays by delivering Auskick and Superkick halftime programs, creating memorable moments for participants on the biggest stage. 

  • Build Community Connections: Create clear and welcoming pathways into junior and senior clubs, strengthening community ties and fostering a sense of belonging through the game. 

  • Champion Inclusion: Support and deliver inclusive football opportunities, including working alongside participants and stakeholders within the Blind and Wheelchair Football Leagues, ensuring footy is accessible to everyone. 

  • Women and Girls Growth: Actively support the growth of women’s and girls’ football across all programs, schools, clubs, and community initiatives. 

  • Promote Our Game: Engage schools and communities through promotional activities such as Kick to Kicks, school assemblies, and come-and-play sessions that showcase the fun and inclusivity of AFL. 

  • Plenty More Fun: Support AFL club-based activations, champion inclusion and diversity initiatives, and assist with other duties that contribute to growing the game 

 

 

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER

 

  • Experience working with Children.  
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively unsupervised and in a team environment. 
  • Well-developed verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills. 
  • Confidence and ability to deliver engaging and positive outcomes with a range of AFL programs. 
  • A willingness to work outside normal business hours such as evenings and weekends.  
  • Current Victorian Driver License with access to a motor vehicle. 
  • Satisfactory Employee Victorian Working with Children Check  

 

Desired:

  • Tertiary qualifications or currently studying Sports Management, Sports Science, Sports Coaching, Recreation, Education or equivalent depth of experience.
  • Established ability to bring together and coordinate a diverse range of stakeholders.
