Participation Coordinator

- Coordinating the delivery of AFL Auskick and Superkick programmes, with a focus on programme quality and participation growth
- Supporting the recruitment of Auskick and Superkick coordinators
- Building productive relationships with teachers, schools and programme stakeholders to grow the School Ambassador network
- Supporting the training and education of casual staff delivering AFL programmes
- Booking, coordinating and delivering school programmes that increase participation across key football formats
- Strengthening School Football pathways and helping more participants progress into football opportunities
- Delivering programmes that support the transition and retention of community football participants
- Supporting participation among transitioning Auskickers, female participants, multicultural communities and people with disability
- Identifying opportunities to grow the game in new and emerging markets
- Coordinating player appearances with programme activity to support participant growth and retention
- Contributing to priority projects and supporting the success of the broader team
- Managing relationships with AFL Victoria, programme coordinators, School Ambassadors, AFL clubs, community groups, leagues and clubs
- One to two years’ experience in a similar role or field
- Strong administration skills, including experience using Microsoft software
- The ability to establish priorities, manage competing tasks and deliver agreed objectives
- Well-developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
- The ability to contribute diverse thinking and practical ideas
- A strong customer service focus and the ability to build constructive relationships
- The ability to negotiate, mediate and work through competing interests
- Experience working towards and achieving targets
- The capability to adapt to and support change
- Knowledge of AFL Victoria development programmes and their impact on the sports industry
- A degree in Sports Management, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience, is desirable
